This is our story.

Mauldin United Methodist Preschool and Kindergarten has a heritage of excellence. Established in 1977, we continue to provide a nurturing environment with a caring, well-trained and certified staff. Our well-rounded curriculum gives our children the foundation they need excel in elementary school and beyond.

Our Vision and Values

MUMC Preschool and Kindergarten is an outreach ministry of the church to serve the community. We strive to provide a safe, loving, Christian, environment where children can grow spiritually, emotionally, cognitively, socially, and physically. The program is designed to care for children in a way that will offer them developmentally-appropriate experiences and fellowship with other children throughout the day. It is our hope that by attending our program children will experience Christ's love and learn to appreciate the wonders of the world around them.
MUMC Preschool and Kindergarten operates on an equal opportunity basis and enrolls children without regard to race, creed, sex or national origin.

A Well-rounded Curriculum

"After my daughter completed the preschool program, she had already met all the end of year reading and math goals for completing kindergarten. She was more than prepared for a successful year and is thriving!
Now her younger sister is following in her footsteps."
Carolyn Rutherford

Science & Discovery

Inquiry and problem solving are practiced at an early age in our science classroom. Our children explore the natural world in a hands-on way. We are the only preschool in the area to have a designated science program!

Music is integral part of our children's development and so it is an integral parts of our curriculum at MUMC Preschool & Kindergarten. Our children receive high quality music instruction as part of a well-rounded education.

Faith Formation

As we nurture our children with the love of Christ, we teach them about who our God is and the things he has done as revealed to us through the Bible. Each week, students attend Cherub's Church, a time of worship and Biblical instruction.

Fitness is an important part of the week. PE helps with gross motor skills. Kids have the opportunity to go to PE during the week as well as playing out on the playgrounds.

Meet the team.

Anna Chandler

I have been the Director at Mauldin Methodist Preschool since 2011 and worked as a two year old teacher for three years before that. I am from Camden, SC but moved to Mauldin after marrying Derrik who is a lifelong member of Mauldin UMC. We have three children Griffin, Will and Megan. When my children were young, I volunteered with my husband in the children's and youth ministries of the church. I guess you could say our family has grown up here. I started working in the preschool when they got older and I have been here ever since. I always say I have the best job at the church because I get to spend time with so many awesome kids each day. In my free time, I love to read, cook and watch tv. On Saturday's in the Fall, you will find me in Clemson with my friends and family wearing orange and watching football. Go Tigers!!
