This is our story.

Mauldin United Methodist Preschool and Kindergarten has a heritage of excellence. Established in 1977, we continue to provide a nurturing environment with a caring, well-trained and certified staff. Our well-rounded curriculum gives our children the foundation they need excel in elementary school and beyond.

Our Vision and Values

MUMC Preschool and Kindergarten is an outreach ministry of the church to serve the community. We strive to provide a safe, loving, Christian, environment where children can grow spiritually, emotionally, cognitively, socially, and physically. The program is designed to care for children in a way that will offer them developmentally-appropriate experiences and fellowship with other children throughout the day. It is our hope that by attending our program children will experience Christ's love and learn to appreciate the wonders of the world around them.

MUMC Preschool and Kindergarten operates on an equal opportunity basis and enrolls children without regard to race, creed, sex or national origin.

A Well-rounded Curriculum

"After my daughter completed the preschool program, she had already met all the end of year reading and math goals for completing kindergarten. She was more than prepared for a successful year and is thriving!
Now her younger sister is following in her footsteps."
Carolyn Rutherford

Science & Discovery

Inquiry and problem solving are practiced at an early age in our science classroom. Our children explore the natural world in a hands-on way. We are the only preschool in the area to have a designated science program!

Music

Music is integral part of our children's development and so it is an integral parts of our curriculum at MUMC Preschool & Kindergarten. Our children receive high quality music instruction as part of a well-rounded education.

Faith Formation

As we nurture our children with the love of Christ, we teach them about who our God is and the things he has done as revealed to us through the Bible. Each week, students attend Cherub's Church, a time of worship and Biblical instruction.

Fitness

Fitness is an important part of the week. PE helps with gross motor skills. Kids have the opportunity to go to PE during the week as well as playing out on the playgrounds.

Meet the team.

PRESCHOOL DIRECTOR
I have been a teacher for the public and private sector since 2000.  I have taught all levels of school from 3 year olds to college students.  I completed my undergraduate degree at USC Upstate and my Master's degree in education from Converse College.  I have been blessed with a wonderful husband and three terrific children.  God called us to Mauldin Methodist Church in 2014 when my son began preschool here.  We became church members shortly after that and have taught Sunday school and been a part of the Children's Ministry and Youth Ministry's teams.  We all consider this to be our home away from home.  I became Director of MUMK preschool in June of 2022.  I feel God has been calling me here and know that we will continue to do his work through the children enrolled at MUMK.  When we are not at the church or at school, my family and I enjoy exercising, playing card games, watching football (go Cocks) and watching movies together.

"For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, 'Fear not, I am the one who helps you.' "  Isaiah 41:13
